A name for a new kitten?
Hi, I'm new here and was wondering if anyone can give me some ideas on some cute names for my new kitten. She is grey and white and was thinking of something original and cute. I would really like to give her an italian name if possible.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks

I like "Bricola" which means "crumb" in Italian. The nicknames would be cute with that name, too.

I am actually picking her up on Saturday morning, so I will definatley take some pictures to post.
Also, thanks for the responses - though Bella is a great name, two of my friends have cats with that name.
I wanted to name her the italian name for cupcake, but it is way to long, maybe there is a shorter/slang type of version I can locate.

Okay here are a few to start ....... The first one will be the name followed by the :meaning
AGATA: kind
AIDA: happy
ANITA: grace
CARA, CARINA: beloved
DONA, DONNA: lady
DONATA: gift
EMILIA: Italian form of Emily (industrious)
FIORENZA: flower
GEMMA: jewel
GIOVANNA: feminine form of Giovanni (gift from God)
GIULIA: Italian form of Julia (youthful)
MASSIMA: great
MERCEDE: merciful
ROSETTA: little rose
SPERANZA: hope
Here's just a few more that wasn't on that list that I was able to come up with
Zucchero = sugar
Dolce = sweet
Bella = beautiful (the all time favorite here in Italy)

Thanks. I live in the US, but my family is from Genova (Genoa) and Lucca. I was thinking more along the lines of the the latter you listed. Not actual human names but like "zucca", which I though about naming her first. I have friends that have cats named dolce and bella, so I don't want to name my new kitty that. A good friend of mine said I should name her either Genoa or Lucca - as it would represent my family. Another friend said "cabrini". I'm just stuck. I want it to sound cute and be original.

I think I may be down to 2 different names : Lucca or Cabrini....I still have a few days to think about it - though I am leaning towards Lucca.

I kind of like Carina myself too but Lucca would be a cute name, and it would mean something to you about your family.... Good Luck on deciding on a name
