Addison's Disease in cats

One of my cats has been tentatively diagnosed as having Addison's disease. Since this is normally a disease found in Dogs (or humans) I don't know much about it in cats. Does anybody else here?

My big guilt trip is that it is exacerbated by a stressful situation, and we had to board the cats (and dogs) for the first time in months last weekend. He lost a pound in a week and is now hospitalized and on IV fluids and steroids.

Luckily my vet is on top of things, as he sees only cats and dogs, and he is the type who wants to learn as much as he can to help the cat.

Time will tell, but right now I'm feeling pretty grim.

Critter, I am sorry to hear that your kitty is so sick. I have never heard of this disease but I will look around for any information on it.

Thanks to both of you - Jade, I'll be up half the night reading! I appreciate both your concern and the information.

Will keep you updated on how he's doing.
