Applying Tripple Antibiotic????

How do you apply tripple antibiotic to the kittens eye. The vet told me I could apply an over the counter product and get the eye drops from him. Any suggestions?

I use the stuff from the vet and it has a small opening so it's not hard to get on the eye.

But the OTC stuff has a large opening...right??

I would put a small amount on the end of a Q-tip so that's its just basically hanging on, ready to fall off.

Then hold the kitten's head steady, (you may need help) hold the eye open and just set the ointment at the bottom of the kitties eye, and the let your kitties eye close and gently massage over his eye lids for a few seconds to help it absorb.

Important thing though would be to not let the Q-tip touch the kitties eye, just the ointment.
