Cat licking fur off stomach..

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else out there has had this problem as well, I have a Female cat who is about 5 years old now (not entirely sure since the people who owned her before us didnt tell us much). I have looked into some reasons and the only I could find was that she may be allergic to something... But I dont know what! Im thinking shes alergic to pollen, but I dont know if thats possible

When she lays on her back thats when you can really see how much hair is really licked off... its nearly all of it! Her stomach is like peach fuzz now. We have taken her to the vet before and they said to just watch her for a few days, but this doesnt happen year round... just for like 3 months of the year, its really weird....

So has anyone else ever seen this?

Tyler licked his fur off his tummy when I changed his food. So I changed it back and he is fine now.
Since you said it is only 3 months of the year I would think it is allergies. Is it always the summer months?
We had a cat, Kitty, that also licked the fur off her tummy. We took her to the vets and they gave so many reasons - one was even fleas but she didn't have fleas. They insisted that even one flea could do it but one flea doesn't last alone for months and months.
My mom's cat Ben licks all his fur off. He looks so bad that if I didn't know him I would never go near him. She thought it was the heater so she had her ducts cleaned it seemed to help but then he was back to it.
I wish I had an answer but I think it can happen because of many things.

Yeah, It is just the summer months... its so weird though. I didnt think a cat could be allergic to pollen or anything, but who knows? Anything is possible.... I know she is allergic to dust because whenever it gets dusty and we clean she begins to sneeze.
The vet couldnt give us an answer... so she just continues to lick the fur off every year... its just so weird looking

With Kitty the vets put her on steriods. The kind they gave her made her sit and stare into space. Oh and put on a lot of weight. We stopped giving them to her because all she did was lay on my parents bed and stare.
