Do you Feed your cats Dry Food?
I went to work with my boyfriend the other day, so i could ride around in the truck and play with the Sirius radio all day And somehow we got onto the Martha Stewart channel. where a show called Cat Chat was on, Anyone heard of it? This lady Tracie hotchner whom apparently wrote a book called the cat bible hosts it. Anyway, during her show a caller called in about cat food or something, And Tracie told them to take there cat off dry food, and called ALL dry foods kitty crack. Said cats should only eat canned food or a Raw diet. Has anyone heard of this? Obviously in an ideal world everyone would feed there animals a RAW diet But when the choice comes up between dry or canned i thought dry was better? I've always thought feeding a can food only diet was unhealthy? and bad for there teeth? We've always fed our cats dry food.
Heres her website http://www.traciehotchner.com/cc/sug....htm#nutrition

Yeah, I've always heard catnip was "kitty crack". In fact, my mom's cat gets dangerously high on it and they had to rush her to the vet with a catnip overdose! All catnip was removed from her house--very scary!!
But, yeah, my kitty gets mostly dry with a canned treat a few times a week!

I feed dry and wet EVERYDAY.
I am in a very good, active cat forum and I learned alot about food.
Wet cat food is better then dry, because it can help prevent UTI.
Some cat's don't drink enough and eating wet food also helps with this.So my cat gets both everyday.
Vets are still giving older info out to people when it comes to food and alot of people do not rely on their vet's when it comes to diets.

I give Kramer wet food and dry food every day. In fact he gets at least 2 cans of wet food a day if not 3. He loves his wet food. He basically has food 24/7. This is by vet recomondation cause he is such a scrawny cat that if he doesn't have food available when he wants it he looses weight. Then he is underweight which isn't good. he weighs 8 pounds and when he doesn't get all the food he wants he drops to about 5-6 pounds. there is nothing wrong with him we have had tests done and he is 100% healthy just has to eat a lot to maintain his weight. My vet also says that you should feed both dry and wet

I think were going to start doing that as well, Feeding him wet in the morning and night and leaving dry food out for him and see how it goes.

I feed mostly dry but he does get the wet probably twice a week, the vet told us to add the wet because it helps with preventing uti's...but Frahnz is not a big fan of wet food lol heck if he had his way he would only eat dog food lol, silly cat thinks hes a big doggy lol...
We call his kitty treats kitty crack because if you chack it no matter where he is he comes running and dances for it lol, but I will not use catnip in toys...catnip can be bad for cats, and it is bad for kittens, there are warning signs in alot of stores about it, I figure if I don't use stuff to get high then my cat doesn't need it either

Yeah, my parents were really upset when they realized how dangerous catnip was. They felt terrible that Lucy had that reaction! They can't have anything from the mint family around her. Mom had some sort of minty plant that Lucy went crazy for!
Baby LOVES wet food, if it is good for her, I'll start giving it everyday-maybe twice!! I was thinking that someone told me wet food made them fat. Maybe I made that up!!!

I never give my cats catnip, I feed them both wet and dry, and they have a buffet, food is always there, I would say that between the two cats I offer cans about 3-4 times a day, they dont eat a whole can at a time and what doesnt get eaten in a few hours is thrown away.
I always thought, that dry food was better for their teeth in preventing tartar build up, but my cats are not big fans of dry food, even though it is always available to them

i feed both cats wet food each morning when Coco gets his wet food. all day long they have dry to graze on.
Also, Illusion loves catnip i didnt see any harm in a natural remedy for "highness"...not pointing any elbows towards myself but getting high -i heard- is quite entertaining for a little while since its no chemicals i figure its ok.

The past few days Bam has only been getting dry food...as the canned was upsetting his stomach and making him throw up.
