Fleas... so frustrating...
Well I just wanted to express frustration... Callie managed to get fleas and we've been trying to treat them for I don't even know how long anymore...
We've tried several methods. Advantage, Frontline, Frontline Plus, a natural flea remedy, a flea bath... even a pill. We sprayed the apartment, washed bedding and such. Still she has them... we're going to try bathing her, then putting frontline and then using a bug bomb for the apartment. The poor baby seems so tired, she's up most of the time scratching herself with maybe only a few hours relief when we bath her and if the flea drops decide to work.
Please be hoping this will work for us...
We've never dealt with this before... sh'es never had fleas before this I don't think she knows what's going on. My poor baby...

Wait two days after her bath before you put on the front-line. I have heard that since bathing strips their natural oils, and that is what helps the front-line spread throughout the coat, that you need to wait a couple days for the oils to come back.

When we had the issue we used Capstar initially and kept an extra dose to give a few days later if we seen any new ones. Also I immediately treated with Frontline after the Capstar. We did all the washing and spraying you name it. I then found that we had forgotten to empty out the vacuum cleaner!!! The reinfestation was from the vacuum of all things. Now I empty it every time I vacuum and if you have a bagged one put a flea collar in the bag. Since figuring out this simple thing we have had no further issues.

just get a flea shampoo from the vet and shampoo her once every few days for 2 weeks. (my house got infested once) the fleas will keep going on the animals but gradually the number will diminish. also we had to shampoo our carpets and actually throw out a couch that was full of them. hope that helps. with the apartment exterminating (i'm sure you know this but i'll throw it out there) of course take all critters with oyu. good luck!

when we got Botton she was infested wth fleas we gave her 2 baths 1 one day and one a couple days later. A couple days after that we had to bring her to the vet and he put a flea treatment that covered heart warm, round worms and a few other things since then we haven't had a problem with fleas. we have had to do flea treatments when we frist go tigger and all we did was give her baths every couple of days and managed to get rid of the fleas. Another thing i was going to do if we didn't get rid of the fleas is go to pet smart and get a flea comb those are suppose to make it easier to get rid of the fleas including the eggs. just make sure u kil the fleas and what not when u find them with the comb obviously.

Yikes, good luck to you guys.
Carissa, I'm the same way. We had them for a while over the summer and they bit me more than the cats! I'm allergic too and I swelled up so badly... Big purple lumps all over my arms and legs... Not pleasant.
I wish I knew what to tell you guys about getting rid of them. One day we got some flea stuff you can sprinkle on the carpet that's supposed to be safe to use with the animals in the house, but never got a chance to use it. We were too busy for about two days and by the time we got around to it the fleas were just gone. I have no idea what got rid of them...

Yea, i deffinally think they bother me more than the animals, plus my pets sleep in my bed, so there in my bed(the fleas) and they come out and attack me AHHHH Sometimes i sleep on the floor in the kitchen to get away from them. And if i get bit by more that 10 a day i get really sick...witch is almost everyday.

Some Natural Flea Ideas
I know that fleas can be really hard to get rid of. I thought that maybe some of these natural remedies might be able to help you out a little. Fleas do not like lavender, sage, orange peel and eucalyptis. Placing a few drops of these essential oils in your pets sleeping area and around your home might help to keep fleas away. Also Dr. Bonner Organic Castile peppermint soap will kill fleas. Placing some on a towel inside of your vacuum will help to kill fleas inside the vacuum as well. Good luck!

mm we got our 2 kits and they were covered in fleas! 3 days of flea combing then frontline sparay..vet said i couldnt use anything else..now i know theres advantage! Withing a month the fleas have returned with vengeance..well the kitts have one or two but now so do my house buns!
I cannot use that chemical spray powder on my furnishings due to house bunnies and us being asthmatic and my daughter having chemical reactions due to her CFS. So i have invested in something ive always used..a steam cleaner..years ago i had a steam buddy..believe its called steam buggy over the pond. After hoovering empty the bag and fire up the cleaner..use the nozzle and go around edges and skirting boards..then carpet attachment and give every bit a good clean..if you cant drag heavy furniture out fully but can vaccum under and behind it..then blast everywhere around it..and it with the nozzle jet.
And as for your beds..wash bedding and steam the bed frame and the mattress both sides and under bed..
you see those sprays etc for carpets etc doesnt kill flea eggs..but the hot steam does!
now it cant be used on your pet obviously but use frontline drops rather than spray..capstar over here is also known as johnsons4flea...it has very fast reaction time but is only ok for a week..so its good to use as an immediate flea killer and then back it up with frontline or advantage or whichever product youve used before..
imoff to buy some now online scratch..ive got 3 bites on my arm..scratch scratch...
