Funny Question

Why would Xena (James cat) be trying to use the restroom in our bathtub? Thats right she pees in the bathtub! She hasn't poope in it yet but we are worried she might. Her catbox has just been cleaned out and she still does it! What is going on?

That is weird - I have no idea why. But when I had my cat, she started peeing in the tub when she had a UTI, then stopped when it was better.

it could be a uti. as for the peeing in the tub at least it is somewhere easy to clean and won't stink up your home or stain anything. We have a cat that does that once in a while when she is mad at us. I now just laugh about it since all i have to do is rinse out the tub then spray it with bleach and water to make sure it is cleaned up properly. But when it first happened i was peeved like you wouldn't believe. I have learned to take everything in stride with that cat since we never know what she is going to do

I agree,it could be a UTI.My cousin has 5 cats and a couple yrs ago one of her cats was peeing and pooping in the tub.She took him to the vet and turns out he did have an UTI.I would just check it out to be sure.

we used to have a cat that did that all the time, we took her to the vet to be checked out and everything was fine.. she just didnt like using a dirty litter box.. she would only use the litter box Right after it was cleaned.... and since we had 2 cats.. more often than not she pottied in the the tub.. sadly we just kinda got used to it..
like Melissa said.. atleast its not somewhere hard to clean, like your bed or something.. i would take her to the vet to get her checked out to make sure its not a UTI

If everything checks out at the vets it could be the amount of litter in the catpan. We currently have 6 cats and one of our little darlings doesn't like there to be much kittylitter in the pan, she seems to prefer a smooth service to go on and then covers it with a tiny bit of litter. Of course all the others prefer the normal amount of litter, so we have lots of catpans with varying amounts of litter in them but if she deciedes that there is just a dash too much litter in them she will have a poop on the floor right in front of the pan as if to say "stupid humans...now fix this!". At least the pans are in areas that you don't see as you go through the house!
