Help, human eye drops in my cat's eyes

I bathed my cat last night with pure castille soap and accidentally got soap into his eyes. My sister thought it would be alright to use human eye drops in his eyes to rinse out the soap. This morning my cat will not open his eyes, but he can still see. Does anyone know if he will be alright in a couple of days?

I would not use any human eye drops. The only thing I would use is saline solution, the stuff that is used to rinse contacts. I've used it on a cotton ball to wipe my kitties eyes. The other stuff has other chemicals in it.

The saline drops should be fine to use. I took care of a bunny once whos owner used it to remove hair from his eyes.

I would give the vet and call.

Eye drops like visine? I wouldn't do that no. Definitely try like renu multi-purpose saline solution on the kitty. It should rinse out the soap and whatnot and will only cause discomfort if there is an infection of some sort in the eye, may cause discomfort but later soothing might occur. Sometime my contacts bug me and when I take them out one spot will burn if I put the multi-purpose in but it soothes after.

so she already used the eye drops? If my cat was showing any signs of distress (not opening its eyes) I would take it to a vet right away...I hope your kitty is ok
