How did your cat's get their names?

Rocky got his name because he is a right little bruiser that takes no crap from anyone lol he is the cat that picks fights with other cats and even dogs believe it or not lol so we named him after Rocky Balboa.........

My baby boys original name was going to be Avon as it was a joke as how silky smooth he was, however after my boyfriend at the time (who gave him to me) decided the first day he broght him home would give him catnip that cat went nuts!!! Therefore Nutty Koo Koo came into effect. But I just call him Nutty for short.

My cat's name is Miss Kitty (common, I know) But when we first got her (we rescued her and a litter of her's from under our old apartment) he named her midnight (another common name for black cats) and gave her to my grandmother. My grandma could never remember midnight so she named her moon light. Then, my grandma got Alzheimer's and couldn't remember that either, so she called her miss kitty. it stuck, and thats what miss kitty is known by forever and ever.

Spike who is white with blue eyes was named after Spike the vampire on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and Fenway was named after Fenway Park. Yes, I'm a Red Sox fan.

jeter (jete for short) is named after Derek Jeter (new york yankees player). Jeter is my sister and mines favorite player on the yankees.

my oldest cat is called freddy his name just popped into my head n i love it then the 2 kittens come along and i wasnt so quick on names had to look on the net for names for my white kitten, wanted to call him crystal but he was a boy and my partner named the other kitten as he is hers . . .oh i called the white one marley

Very OT but my friend gave Derek Jeter wrong directions. Apparently he stopped and asked and she accidentally gave him the wrong directions.

Berlin is named after the place in Germany.
I am a big fan of Germany and lately trying to get back in touch with the German side of me.I knew I wanted to give her a German name,but Berlin kept sticking anytime I tried to think of something...so that is how she was named!

Peaches and Cream came with their names. Abbles got hers cause she's an abbysinian. Carmy just seemed to fit and Kissy because she always kisses me Lastly as I was leaving the shelter with Rainbow, there was a little girl there and I asked her what I should name the kitten. She said Rainbow and Rainbow has been Rainbow ever since.

My dad named my cat Scout while he was away for business and me and my mom were watching him. He was sorta like a boy scout because when he was only 4 weeks [[he lived at a farm]] his mom took off and he had to fend for himself until we took him. And my little brother got Oscar for his birthday from the shelter, his name was EMO, what kind of a name is that? He named him from the movie Shark Tale- his favorite. Oscar is the main fish.

I have 3 cats (though I live in canada right now and they are at my parent's place in ny!)

My kitty cat is Tia, a tortoishell lady!, she got her name because in europe when you have a purebreed dog or cat every year there's a letter for the birth year so one year, purebreeds names have to start with a, the year after b, etc etc... and Tia was born the year of the T! so I was looking for small names that started with T, and thought Tia was adorable she's not purebred, but it's just a good way to get inspired!

My black long haired beauty is called "Fifille" we're french, so that means something like "baby girl" because she was a stray cat found abandonned outside and was meant to be for my aunt's friend. My aunt's friend went on vacation, and then my aunt was stuck with it. She had to also go on vacation and gave us the cat until the friend came back to adopt it. So it didn't have a name and we just called her Fifille all the time to not name her instead of the friend. But after 2 weeks we learned the friend didn't want her, and my aunt was gonna put her back outside!!!! so we kept her of course, and Fifille stuck (even though her official name at the vet is Pepsi) we usually call her La fifille, because you know, she's THE baby girl of the house.

Our third cat, a gorgeous turkish van male, was found with his brothers and sisters on a truck wheel, full of dirt! they were brought to the animal shelter i worked at and were too small to be kept there. So we foster-cared for them. My mom fell in love with him (she loves orange and white cats) and again, that year was the year of the V and she gave him a fancy name: Valentin. But we usually call him Valou
