I do still want a kitty >_<

Well,I still don't have my own kitty.
I'm really quite in love with the kitties @ the shelter.
Thinking I may get one since I will be moving again in the fall.

I have 2 dogs,they keep each other company while i'm @ work...
Should I get more than 1 kitty?
She (or he) will be neutered& an house pet,but I'm thinking I should really get more than 1.
Feedback please...
I'll be in school& working diff hours now.Pets still get a lot of time with moi as they'll always be #1 on my list, but would it be immensely cruel to keep ONE cat under such circumstances?

before i moved I had Millie and Shadow and they did great together. She actually became extremely attached to Shadow and used to cry when I took Shadow outside to go to the bathroom. I would always find her sleeping on him. I guess it depends on your dogs. It will take time for them to get used to each other though. Look for a cat that is not afraid of the dogs. When I got Millie I walked her into the puppy room and to the door of the big dogs to see if she flipped out with the barking. When she didn't react I knew she was right....plus the fact that she beat up the other cat I was considering. hehe

I depends on the cat...if it's a cat that likes and it used to other cats, then you may want to get him/her a friend.

My cat I had for 17 years, Fuzzy, wanted nothing to do with other cats coming into our house. He was territorial and after a while would just tolerate the other cats, but would never really warm up to them. He much preferred to be the only cat.

Like said above, I'd also check to see how the cat/cats felt about dogs....that may be enough company for him/her.

Thank you for the feedback !!
My mom's cat "Tiny" just tolerates other cats (& dogs) ...& just for a short amount of time
I shall see how the new kitty feels when I get him or her.
If it appears that they need another cat to be happy,I have no problem adopting another .
I never thought of that, maybe the dogs can be company for the kitty too.
My dogs are 'cat safe',they lived with cats all their life
There's 2 cats upstairs (my parents part of the house).
Neither dog seems the least bit bothered by the presence of cats. But I'd of course still watch them with a new addition.
I -MiGHT- get a cat before I move,as I'm really in love with the shelter cats.Love the dogs too,but my dogs are jealous over other dogs, when I was dog sitting before they didn't like that at all.
So definately no for other dogs atm.
The cat I may just have to get soon

Good luck with your new kitty (when she comes along). We also have a kitty in our family that never really like the other cats. She is now 17 and still not fond of the other cats. She had a brief period that she was an only child when she lived with my grandmother. Then my grandmother went into a home and Chrissy went back with my dad.
We also had a kitty that beat the crap out of every female kitty in the house but LOVED the dog.

When it comes to choosing pets...I usually let them choose me
& As for Bella she was all "meow, pick me up,love me!!" when she saw me & I was like "awws I do love you kitty!!" & My brother thought I was making a fool of myself talking to a kitty in public
