Ill??? Ear problems???

My cat has been to the vet alot recently because she has a habit of pulling her fur out!

She was a stray and the vet said she was roughly 4 years old when we got her so she is about 8years now!

In the last couple of days she has had a bit of dried blood in her ear ad if anyone goes near it it will flop.

She has also stopped eating so i mashed up her food and she ate again

We will take her to the vet but in the meantime just wondering what you think it could be, we have booked her an appointment.

Give hugs to her

I don't know what it is, but good luck, poor kitty. Ear infection, parasites? Who knows. I'm very glad you're taking kitty to the vet! I hope they fix the problem up quickly.

Sorry its late but we took her to the vet and it turns out her claw was in her skin which caused an abcess and the pus is being sucked out today!!!!

The vet was busy and couldnt get hold of him till last night (sigh)

I missed her last night, it was weird without her!

Thanks for your help

Rachel

oh so SOOO glad you took her to the vet! they have tools and resources we only dream of knowing how to use lol. any animal not eating is a BIG BIG warnign sign of an illness. when i co-oped at my local vet clinic, i remember them saying FIP (feline internal peritonitis....or something) occurs in cats that stop eating (i think you can get a vaccine for it). i THINK it has to do with the kidneys shutting down. also a cat not eating for 2 days straight or more will have its kidneys shut down anyways. with all that "maybe" knowledge i have, vet vet vet! the wierdest things can happen to animals, only a vet will ever know.

Just got her back

She has got an ear infection but we just give her drops for that and she has to have her stitched up area bathed with warm water 2ce every day and we are taking her back for an injection and possibly a collar (the plastic 'cones') if she attempts to strach it, although she has started to rub it against the floor but the vet just said to come back saturday to get it sorted!!!!

Thank gods shes back, i missed her, and she was only gone 1 night!
