Mixing species is generally not a good idea. Tigers and lions are nowhere near each other in the real world. When they are brought into close proximity they can mate, they can fight, but it is not the natural order of things. I wonder if the off-spring are sterile as in most cross-species breeding?
It also can cause other problems. When they bred cattle and buffalo in the West, the offspring all died and suffered doing so.
I do not like forced mutations or animals brought out of their natural environment where they aren't contained properly from each other.

Yea the offspring are sterile. Ive seen them before on TV. They get so big because the gene that tells them to stop growing is pretty much turned off.

ETA: They CANT tell me that the breeding was accidental either.

Ok guys,I was just looking up Ligers due to being a Napolean Dynamite fan.I was given the link,so I posted it.
I'm not saying it's right to mix species& such.
I just thought it was interesting something like that existed& that it wasn't made up.

Yeah,I found out ligers were real about a year ago,after watching the movie.I decided to look them up and sure enough seen they existed.

people cross breeding animals isnt that uncommon... people cross breed horses and donkys all the time..
so i suppose its not horried to breed these ligons.. however.. with the current tiger population as low as it is.. its sad to think these people would be wasting time breeding sterile animals, instead of helping the tiger population..

Only the male Tigons and Ligers are sterile.....the females are able to breed!
