Litter Box or Dining Room, where to go?

My Fitzy, 75 year old male cat, has decided he likes to "poo" on the dining room carpet. Any cat behaviorists out there who may know why?

Have you recently moved his litterbox or changed anything??? You might of changed something, the litter, the area his toilet was or whatever and he disliked it.

Is his poo normal?? Ok so 75 years old how old is that really?? LOL

My ex had a cat that was almost 20 when I put her down and she started to pee sometimes when she was laying there and she would mix the liter box sometimes and they told me she was just old and she was also blind and deaf so I put her down! Not saying to do that but maybe its just old age! I don't really know what to tell you except to put him back in the liter box and show him that is the place to go!

Fitz seems to be doing a little better these past 2 weeks. The litter box is more appealing to him. We had switched litters so we're back to the original brand. He's old and I think he's got a bit dementia, no kidding. He's a little "not there" at times. We're going to the VET this weekend.
