looking at builiding a kitty play area could use some advise!

I am think very seriously of building a little play area for my new kitten at some point in the near future. She keeps wanting to get into thing arund the house and she has been trying to treat the house plants as though they are toys. I want her to be able to play but I don't want her getting into things that she does not need to, and most of all I want her to be safe...so I am thinking of just making sectioned off area for her to play aroun in.
Thinking of putting in little kitty crawl cubes and some of her toys she already has as well as a scratching post. But if anyone else has any other ideas for the space I would be most open to hearing them.
Thanks!

What about wall shelves so she can climb up them? If you can do it where there is a window you should offer a window perch.

Oh thats a really cool idea...and if I could just find some old pices of wood and and scrap carpet I could make it myself pretty easily. lol that but then again I am odd like that like to do home made crafty stuff.
Yeah I think making some shelves like that for her to play on...as well as getting some kitty play cubes for her to crawl in and out of...as well as a little kitty bed. Since she has been trying to steal the dog's one for several days would be a wonderful idea. That certainly sounds like it would keep her busy..
Thanks for the wonderful ideas!

It's cute that she loves the dog bed. Frank stole the cat's cube. It's his now. The cats were not that interested and Frank loves it.

Yeah Mouse is really a fun cat, she totally the opposite of my old cat. My old cat Fluffy hardly ever wanted to held or petted and Mouse actually goes out of her way to get attention and be loved...on and she wants to play with us more then her own toys lol the scratch marks to prove that.
She is just a wonderful little cat and I think building her a play and lounge area will be something she will really enjoy.
