Exclamation Lump on the side of my cat's jaw

My cat has a lump on the side of her jaw. I can't take a photo, she won't sit still. Its not a tumor because it appeared suddenly. But she still eats and drinks and runs around like an idiot. But its started seeping. So I don't know if its a cyst - do Cysts seep? Its not bleeding, because I wiped it and it came off slightly...orange. Like there was pus there or something. Pus with the blood. It reminds me of my ingrown toenail. If its an abcess, can it kill her? If its a cyst, can that kill her? I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow. Should I be worried?

No I wouldn't be too worried about it. It sounds more like a abscess because of the puss. cyst is more like air and semi-solid material. What is most likely going to happen to your cat is the vet will drain the abscess and give you anti-bioltics. Since you caught it early your cat will be just fine. It is small right?

I've witnessed them explode....and the cat was still fine afterward. So yeah, she'll be fine.

it popped. She now has it up the side of her neck and i think the lump is gone. i'm taking her any way, just to make sure it was only a cyst

It was an abscess. It popped and the vet gave her antibiotics for it as well as shaved the area and cleaned it up. So all is well, as far as I can see

Pets get many types of lumps and bumps that are easily treatable. As soon as you notice something like that, take them to a vet. Because some lumps can turn into tum ours and cancers.
