Missing Cat Comes Home After 18 Years Away
POSTED: 8:21 am EDT August 10, 2004
SELKIRK, Manitoba -- Canadian Leslie Dumas had given up hope of ever getting her cat back. After all, Seagull disappeared 18 years ago.
But last Wednesday the Winnipeg Human Society called her father saying the cat had been identified by a tattoo in its ear.
Dumas said she has no idea how Seagull survived all these years. She figures he must have found a home for most of that time, before hitting the skids again recently.
Dumas said the cat disappeared in 1986, after her home was destroyed by fire and they were living with her boyfriend's mother.
Of course, Seagull is up in years now. He's 20 years old and blind with cataracts, but Dumas said she'll baby him until he gets his strength back.

Aww. That's so great. ^_^ I remember I was taking care of a stray cat who disapeared a while ago. Recently, I was at a shelter and there was cat who looked like and acted like the stray. I asked about him and the age matched up and he was found not too far from my house ^_^.
