Mystic Update (Cat not eating)

Mystic came home yesterday after 5 days at Animal Hospital. She received the I-133 Iodine treatment for Hyperthyroidism. So for three weeks she must be carefully monitored (at home). Her litter box contents, must be saved for an additional 80 days while the Iodine (radioactive) minimizes. She has been eating and remains alert. she does not like the restrictions, as she is an indoor/outdoor cat. We built a 4 1/2 ft. wide by 14 ft. wide area for her to roam.., as of yet it has seen little activity. She has a blood tests scheduled for the 6th of July to gauge the effectiveness of the above mentioned treatment. we are hopeful as the success is high (95%). Thanks for sharing with us this difficult time. Carl

How is her appetite now?
I am sure once she is feeling a bit better she will love her roaming area.
Wow - do you have to do anything special with her litter box contents while holding them? After 80 days can you just throw them away? Sorry but I was just thinking of how much poo that can be!
Our thoughts are prayers will be with you and Mystic. We wish her a successful recovery!

We have a garbage pail with lid and double bags inside. The litter and its contents will be accumulated over the next three weeks and then must be saved for 80 days. So far she has been eating but has not made much use of litter box. I am hoping that when I get up tomorrow she will have left me a present of sorts. Carl
