New cat
We have a new cat in the house.
He was gonna be drowned so we had to rescue him.
He is a silver tom 1 year old not castrated.
He has a white face with smudges on it. He does not respond to his old name of Dennis so he has now been re-named Smudge.
Tilda and Emil keep growling at him.
He is very shy and only lets me stroke him. He walks very close to the ground, almost like a snake.
Will get pics ASAP

ASAP is not fast enough, I wanna see pics now! LOL I love his name. We named a cat at the shelter Smudge for much the same reason. What a lucky Smudge for you to have found him.

He woke me up last night by fighting with Tilda.
They all keep growling at him but Tilda is the worst
Do you think it will get better once he is castrated coz both the other boys are castrated?
Thought I had lost him today but he was lying under a blanket on the couch.

Smudge is just new and it may take a little while for everyone to get used to each other. They have to establish who is who in their little colony. The neutering will probably help a lot. Varuca still hates Magilla but he can get within a foot of her now before she will start growling. They don't fight anymore. Its more growling and walking away unless Magilla want to be a PIA (typical male) and pounce on her. I've caught them sleeping next to each other a couple of times.

They get very close but then for some reason all the other cats growl at him. He just wants to play with them but they are not playing cats.
Gonna get him done as soon as I can.
For some reason he peed on our kitchen sides. It stunk. I used Dettol, vinegar and kitchen spray. Scrubbed it for ages.

Congratulations on rescuing Smudge. I'm sure he will grow to love you and everyone in your home once he starts trusting everyone. I recently took in a stray cat. She adjusted to her new home faster than my cats adjusted to having a new cat here! It probably took about a month for my cats to accept her, and now she's part of our zoo.

its so cool that you adopted him, it takes awhile before cats actually accept another cat...my cat can't be around other cats as she has FIP...good luck and way to go on saving him
