Also how many cats do you have? I read that you should have a litter box per cat + one.So in my case,I have two cats and should have 3 litter boxes.I only have two boxes at the moment,but am hoping to get a third soon.Some cats are picky about where the box is or what kind of litter you use...even just moving the location of a litter box can upset the cat.And if you don't clean it much,then obviously a cat is not gonna use it.
Also not using the box,could mean an UTI!
My Benjamin sometimes pees on my bed (gross...I been sleeping on my couch alot lately) or in cardboard boxes.He has also peed on the carpet.He ALWAYS poops in the litter boxes tho.My other cat,Hatchet only uses the litter box.I have ruled out alot of things and now I may have to bring Benji in to be tested for an UTI,because I can't figure out why else he would pee out of his litter.
