non-stop kitty meowing... help!

we got our little sweet pea last september. she is about 8 mos. old. she is a typical little kitten. however, about 6 weeks ago, she started meowing during the nighttime.

her meowing has gotten worse. when we go to bed, if the door is open, she comes in our room and makes as much noise as possible so we won't sleep. she'll scratch the side of the bed, chew on our nightstand, meow. we've been locking both her and our adult male cat out of the room at night. it is the only way we can get any sleep.

now, she has started meowing at the bedroom door. no matter how much we try to ignore it, she just gets loud and LOUDER. on a typical night, we are awakened by her meowing like 4 times. if we let her in the bedroom, she just starts chewing and scratching.

is this normal behavior for her age? someone PLEASE tell me this is something she'll grow out of.

meanwhile, our poor xander can't sleep with us anymore because we have to keep the bed kitty-free.

advice??

I don't really know about cats, but is she spayed or netured? She could possibly be in heat, but its just a guess

it sounds normal to me, my moms cat Data did that for a while when he was a kitten. He did it at night as well cause he just wanted attention. Drove my brother nuts so that was a plus my mom could ignore it. He grew out of it though
