Questions on cat breeds
Later on this year my mom wants to get a cat, and so she gave me the lovely job of finding information on certin cats that she is wanting to get. The cats she is thinking of are Maine Coons, Ragdolls, pershions and himalayans. We are just getting one cat but those are the breeds she is interested in.. If you guys have any information about them I would love to hear it and would love the help. Thanks in advance.

All I can say is I have a Maincoon-Tabby cat and I just love him to death. He's just so cute, fluffy, and warm.

Thanks for the help Sassy, mom has decided to go with either a Maine Coon or a Ragdoll.
BJH1384, my friend Barb has a Maine Coon named Quincy and I am always hearing about Quincy doing things, he is a really pretty cat. and loves to lay on what ever you are reading or looking at. I always hear about him getting into trouble

My Mom has a Main Coon, but he is kind of offish and a loner, he likes be around people but doesn't want to be petted or held.

Yeah Casey is very curious. Whenever we tried wrapping presents for Christmas he would plop himself down on the wrapping paper, or go inside the gift bags. Casey loves to be petted but he isn't much a lap cat.

Quincy gets into everything! This one time I was there Barb was having a Longaburger Basket party and the consultant had baskets out and Quincy climbed into every single one of them it was to cute, he has also jumped up on the counter and knocked off barbs pills and just a bunch of things. Barb calls him her Bad boy. He loves to be petted and will jump into your lap when he wants to be loved. Barb also got him a four post bed. He is really spoiled and is just a ham.

I had a Maine Coon growing up, and Max was the absolute best. Around family, he was very friendly, and loved to be around my shoulders. He was my first angel on my shoulder, Patrick and Jack have taken his place in that matter.
There are certain traits that he had that my parents remember of him, especially now, with their new kittens. Between Max and my Yoda, a gray tabby, very mischeivious.
Ragdolls are great too, I have to say, my all time dream cat.

Good choices. I think both breeds are wonderful. I would have to pick the Ragdoll out of those two though.
If I ever get another cat I want a Tonkinese.
