Question Top-Loading Litter Boxes - Do They Work?

Anyone ever tried the top-loading litter boxes? Is it hard to get kitties to adapt to them? My girls get a little crazy when they bury, and litter flies everywhere. They also think litter box is for playtime and they scatter it even when they aren't in there to do their business. I have tried the covered box type and the booda dome (covered, with a curving ramp). They have helped some, but I'm still constantly sweeping up kitty litter. I thought maybe the top-loading boxes could be the answer, but I hate to drop $30+ and have it be a bust.

Interesting never seen something like that. It seems like something that might get hard to get a cat to use though. Cats often get accustomed to their litter set up anyways even if you just change litter brands it can mean they will stop using the litter. If you've made changes it might work. If your cats are finicky though I wouldn't do it because they probably wouldn't adapt. I also would probably avoid doing it if they are older cats.

I have a friend that has been using one for awhile now. He travels a lot with his two and said it is really great for traveling. They used it at home but he didn't like how they had to sit in there to use it and thinks it was hard for them to dig in....BUT, he has never found the perfect litter box for his babies.

Handicap kitties ♥ just leave bigger and deeper paw prints on your heart.

Me neither! I need to invent something. I still haven't picked one of these up, maybe I'll just resign myself to litter everywhere.
