Horse attacked by coyotes

I've never heard of anything like this before but yesterday at my boyfriends sisters stable a horse there was attacked by 11 coyotes they attacked it in mid afternoon out in a field. This was near a lot of people who saw the attack. The horse was killed due to it being ripped open and everything spilt out. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

OMG, that is awful.
I have never heard of anything like that happening. But I live in the middle of the city. I have seen it on TV programs but always at night.

I've never heard of them attacking during the day. I think we have some near us. Because sometimes when we go outside and sit on the porch at night we can hear them howling. It could be a pack of wild dogs but I don't think it is. I'm so sorry to hear about the horse. That is really sad.

Thumbs down

I'm suprised

that's really horrid!
sorry to hear!
I'm suprised b/c I live in a very horse-y and coyote filled area. They almost comingle in the pasture turn-outs. They've never attacked (coyotes to horses), but they hang around them b/c they stir up rabbits and other small animals living in the brush.
I hear them "howl" near-nightly and it's just....freaky
