Hon, I could be here for WEEKS telling you everything.
Clydesdales are great horses but I really don't recommend you get one for riding purposes. You'll need a special saddle because their back is a bit wider. They also aren't the smoothest riding horses.
When it comes to horses, breed doesn't matter too much. Some breeds are more hyper than others such as Arabians, but it all comes down to training and temperment.
As far as expenses....Obviously the purchase of the horse, halter, saddle, bridle, saddle pad, and putting up a strong fence and shelter if you don't already have one. Then there's hay, grain, water trough, horse dewormer (yes, horses can get worms just like dogs and vets usually recommend that the horses be dewormed every 8 weeks), hoof trimming every 8 weeks or so, salt block, vaccinations, and vet bills. Those are just the basics.
