Cool

Bird's Nest

Right outside my window, on my third floor apartment, is some architechure that a couple of birds made a nest on. We had a front row view of their little lives. Laying eggs, hatching, and now the 5 babies are getting bigger and the nest is crowded. Its so cute!

Anyone know what type of birds they are?

Yep. I've actually noticed a few of these guys taking care of the nest. They swoop back and forth between the tree in front and the nest by the window. So I think a whole little colony is working together =)

No guessing, I grew up with Barn Swallows nesting all over, ...in the barn, in the garage, on the porch, etc..

Their nest is pretty unique.

I love watching them fly too, like little fighter jets.

They actually stole a nest that was already there. Some sparrows were building up an old nest then the swallows took it over.

They may have stolen the spot, but the method that attaches it to the wall itself is part of what makes their nests so unique. Only chimney swifts rival it.
