Non-Domestic Cats as Pets

Non-Domestic Cats as Pets

by Diana J Geiger

People are awed and intrigued by keeping the non-domestic cat as a pet. Everything from the Bobcat, Wildcat, Serval, Caracal, Leopard, Lynx, Puma, Jaguar, Ocelot and Margay are kept as pets. Some people even keep Lions, Cheetahs and Tigers as pets. People who are experienced in their care, committed and responsible pet owners will sometimes keep these magnificent cats successfully, but in many cases the results are not good. They are wild animals by nature. They are unpredictable and strong. Cats act instinctually, loving and willing to cuddle, and then something triggers them, perhaps a smell or a sound and they can attack. That sweet little cub will grow into a large cat. Even in just play a large cat like the lion and tiger can be potential dangerous just do to strength, size and nature of the beast.
