I just wanted everyone to be aware of places that they can either go to adopt turtles or give them up for rescue. We, the "turtle people", are fortunate enough to have a very strong alliance of rescues and organizations set up for chelonians across the United States and in parts of Canada.

Please, if you are considering a turtle as a pet make sure you research it well -- all species are different. Don't rely on what a
