Chasing and squeaking ?

My two degus, both baby girls, keep chasing each other around, jumping on the others back and squeaking. One will do it for a while then the other. Some times are worse than others. Are they actually fighting or trying to establish dominance in a new home. Neither of them seem to be hurt in anyway and there are times when they seem to be grooming each other as well.
Should I leave them together and watch them or seperate them? I really hate to seperate because having a companion is the reason I got two to begin with.
Any suggestions or experiences like this one that you can share with me?

Tkdsusan is on a distinguished road
I'm certainly no Degu expert, but I can tell you that mine do the same sort of thing! I have two males in one cage and two females in another, and the females seem to exhibit more of this behavior than the males. I notice it the most after a choice bit of food is put in their dish! Silly things, aren't they? I would watch them just to make sure they aren't really hurting one another, but it sounds fairly normal to me. Just MHO!
Good luck!
Susan

I have a male/female pair and they do the same thing. It is just their way of playing. We have a Wodent Wheel for ours and they love it.

I sure am glad to hear that, they had me worried ! But when they sleep they sleep by each other so I didn't think they actually couldn't stand one another.
