degu sick am having rant!!!!

hey just having a rant, had an increadiblly ***** day at work and generally first thing i do when get home is see the animals and say hello however got in and due to day was shattrd so went made a cup of tea and ploncked myself on couch, finally an hour later i went to see the goos as one was making a funny howling sound- never heard before!!!! anyways turned out dali had some sort of stroke/weird inffection?? and was slumped over in cage and when he tried to move just went round and round!!!, i thought he was going to die but luckly got an out of hour vet appointment she hadnt worked with a degu before but was great, ItS been 5 days know dali is feeding himself again and has regained coordination but extremlly wobbly/cant climb so hopefully once he finishes his medication will be back to his old self (fingers crossed) so ive had my rant!!!!!

Wow, that must have been so scary!!! I am so glad Dali has started to recuperate. I'm sure it's due to you taking him in immediately after finding him ill.

I hope he'll continue to recuperate, and will back to his old tricks soon. I am always amazed at how really, really TOUGH these Degus are.

Kisses to your good little patient!

That makes sense. Humans can get inner ear infections, and can lose their balance if it's severe enough! The ear is where we get our sense of balance, so that really does make perfect sense!

I am glad he is recovering. Poor little guy! Sounds like he's a good little patient.
