Hi there, new to this forum, so I'm hoping this is okay to ask - does anyone know of a reputable source for degus in or around
Ohio? The few breeders I've found listed were on lists that were several years out of date and turned out to be dead ends. I haven't found any sort of up-to-date list of
degu breeders anywhere - all the listings I found seem to be from back in 06 at best.
I've checked most local listings sites I could think of (craigslist, hoobly, kijiji and random pet classifieds to name a few) with no luck - it's as if nobody in Ohio has them. We even went to the extent of calling almost all of the local pet stores to see if any of them would carry them, but that was also a complete dead end. I know they're illegal in PA, but as far as I can tell they're ok to own here, so I'm at a loss as to why they're so hard to find.
I've even seen it suggested to people to come to Ohio to buy them if they're looking for them, but I can't figure out where I'm supposed to look.
So if anyone has any suggestions on where to look for a degu (well, two degus!) in or around Ohio, please let me know - it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
