hair loss around eyes - Paw Talk

i was taking a good look at my degu today and he has no hair around his eyes...he has never had this before and i am concerned. there is literally no hair around both of his eyes. i don't know if maybe he is doing this himself by scratching? does he have an infection that itches? please help !

Is there any fur loss anywhere else? Its odd its just around the eyes, keep an eye on him and if your worried maybe speak to your vet

nope, no hair loss anywhere else. just around the eyes. there is more hair loss around his left eye more than his right eye.

Is it concentrated for example where the eye meets the nose or is it all around? If it is could be a runny eye causing it :s

it's around the eye and it meets up with his ear.

Does the skin look normal or inflammed? It sounds like he has scratched it out himself, i would keep an eye on it and if it gets bigger or looks inflammed ask your vet
