help my degus please, quick!

Will somebody please help me quick....I accidentally gave some poisonios flowers to my degus, an 2 out of 3 are very ill, and since it's the end of the month and I'm on SSI, I cant afford to take them a 24 hour vet. Do you think they will let me make payments later?? they're getting really ill and I'm crying so hard I cant breathe, I feel so terrible, they're my babies and I will never forgive myself for this, it was an accident...

Im so sorry to hear that. My female degu has bruxism I believe and I had to scrap the cash to get her to the vet tommorow. Some vets do offer payment plans, you just have to call around and ask.

Hi, Take your degus straight to a vet, most vets will allow you to pay over time, the most important thing is you get help. Dont beat yourself up about it either, a few months ago two of my degus ate Lily of the Valley leaves, they started being sick so i took them straight to the vet. They gave them Charcoal to absorb the poison and they did get better. The most important thing is that you get to a vet urgently, and try to remember what it is they ate, this will help the vet to treat them effectively. Please just get them to a vet so they can get treatment and dont be so hard on yourself, these things happen, when you keep animals, we all make mistakes.

Thank you for the replies. I was unable to get them to the vet last night, their's only one 24 hour emerency place and they dont take payments, they wanted $50 for consult and then $60 for treatment, so that's $110 times 2 degus, and I dont get paid til the 1st. Well thier legs where paralyzed and they where having convultions, but this morning I woke up with one laying in bed next to me and knawing on my finger nails, and wanting to play, so I gave her some timothy hay and she ate and I put her back in her cage and she was running on her wheel, I was shocked to see how fast she got over this illness when last night I thought for sure she was a not going to make it til morning. And the other one is also slowly also getting better. My best friend/neighbor came over and we prayed for heavenly father to help them, which made me feel so much better (we're both members of the same church also). Right now they're all 3 sleeping, cuddled in one big ball.

Also I was wonder what flowers are okay for degus that I can grown myself inside for them to eat? I know I will never make this mistake again, it was just as bad as if I poisoned my own kids on accident, they are my children, I call them my triplets, and some times the 3 amigos lol. Thank you for advise, and when I get paid on the 1st, I'm gonna find them a vet that will take payments and get them checked out, so I will have someone to call if this ever happens again.
