So, I found out how we got a male and female degu and thought it was funny so I'm going to share. We went to the mall that day for back to school shopping and to blow our first paychecks and we convinced my girlfriends mom to let us buy Degus because they were cute and little etc. We walked out of the pet store to go ask for them and there was like 20 of them in the display cage. So we left and she said yes so we came back and there had been a shift change and there was no more small animal worker anymore so we had to wait for the puppy associate to open it up and just give us two. I guess at the same time someone had had two seperated a boy and a girl and the rest of the degus were moved to somewhere else. I came back with the puppy associate and she just gave me those two. I had had no idea that they were someone else's. So we left with the correctly sexed male and female degus!
*update on Ralph* he's getting big and extra pear shaped and cuddling on his side with yoshi laying his head on Ralphs stomach. Only about a 7-10 days till Ralph has babies!

I have no idea what happened. Just came home and he was taking his last few breaths. It was so upsetting. He was still really young and I'm scared because Ralph is having babies. Is he going to be too depressed? What can I do?
