Funny you should mention you didn't want anyone to be alone...

I got some free gerbils from a family and there were three left. The lady said they were all females, so instead of someone being alone, I took all three. Months later, one turned out to be a boy and the other two popped out babies!

On a good note, the boy who was alone got to live with his sons and the girls got to live with their daughters!
