My degu has a red eye all of a sudden!!

Ok, so my degu is about one years old, he's a male and his name is Scrat, he lives with also male Dr Phil, who is also the same age, or so i believe because the people at the pet store were not really informed well.

Anyway, Scrat had developed cataracts around Christmas time, i had noticed that he had silver circles in his eyes. But other than that he seems ok, hasnt shown signs of losing sight or perception, aside from a very slight misbalance! And my other degu Dr. Phil is fine which leads me to believe that Scrat does not have diabetes, and it is just genetics..

Today i noticed that one of his eyes, is red, the silver circle is red, as if there is blood in it!!! i am really scared... and i dont really trust the vets where i live.... help??

Oh and lately (from April) I have noticed a discoloration of this same degu;s ears and his feet underneath, they have gone a bit pink... other than all this, he seems perfectly fine...

Sudden Red Eye in Degues

Hello,

My degue Nathan just appeared with his left eye that has turned red, my son and I are very scared and worried. My husband says that he is blind in that eye now, do you know if that is true and will this happen to the other eye...I am so freaking out because we have 4 more and I dont want them to be in pain or sick....Please let me know what you know if you could.

I would get him to a vet since it could be caused by a number of things. It's definitely not normal, though!
