my new goo yay
Hello everyone
Today i innocently walked into pets at home and looked at the adoption area this gorgeous little lonely face looked back i fell in love
apparently his previous owner gave him up because he faught with his brother and they said they had tried to mix him with other goos but he faught again although they had only spent 3 weeks trying to mix him which isnt enough as we all know
anyway i had a spare cage as i thought one of my goos was pregnant but 3 months have passed and nothing so i think he is just a bit chunky bless him
i will try to mix them as i had 4 boys already but if it doesnt work he can stay in his own cage it seemed such a shame for him to be alone and there being a huge empty cage at mine so i adopted him
they wouldnt even handle him in the shop so i got him into the box for them he has been lovely he hasnt even nipped me he comes up to me when i talk to him and he hasnt stopped running around he looks like a different goo to the one i saw in the shop he has even taken food of me i noticed when i got him home he has chewed the fur of his whole front right paw most likely out of boredom hes really friendly and im so glad we got him he looked so miserable in the shop i hope that i can make him feel better it broke my heart in the shop to see him
i just couldnt wait to tell you all about my new baby goo i have named him bowser

Poor little guy, that's a really sad story. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have pets!!
I'm so glad you decided to adopt him and give him the life he deserves. I'm sure he'll soon realize how much better off he is, and will thank you for the rest of his life! Congratulations and THANK YOU for adopting this little guy!

im glad you adopted instead of buying from a normal petshop. Ive done that with several of my pets, and so far, all of the pets I have adopted seem to be more gentle and loving than all those ive purchased, only exception is my goos, and they are just incredibly sweet.

Great, good for you! I agree on the pet shop issue, mine are from private owners as well and very healthy and happy-pet shops just aren't natural...

BTW, a lot of countries have banned pet shops from selling actual pets, just supplies, because of animal rights, and while I don't think those fish or feeder crickets mind too much, it just isn't right for most animals. They seldom are well cared for...

aw congrats on taking him in I've been caught out like that too myself, you just can't help yourself. I agree the missing fur is probably either through stress either from the fighting or being on his own and being dumped in a new alien environment i.e Pets at Home or from boredom or could be a little of both as they don't exactly give them much to do in there :s

thats so true all he had was a rope bridge i have never seen a goo truly depressed until the day i saw him he is a completely different goo now he is happy and friendly and has reacted to my other goos brilliantly i hope one day they will meet face to face and have a goo pile
also rambo only had a bendy stick thing he has been great too he doesnt like other goos so he has a tank of his own as he is much happier like that he has loads to occupy him and he has let me hold stroke and kiss him no problems at all today i was watching him have a snooze and he nearly fell of the ledge he was so cute

Thats why i take in homeless and rescue degus as a lot of them have absolutely nothing in the world but a bare cage and a food bowl if they are lucky and you take them in, give them a nice cage and the difference in them within a couple of hours is huge
I'm afraid i had words with them in my local pets at home about the degus being depressed, both had missing fur off the paws and the cage was empty apart from a water bottle and a bendy stick bridge. No food, no hay, no nothing well apart from the wooden cat litter stuff thats dangerous to use with degus as it swells up in the stomach On the plus side since my little rant they haven't had any since
