New Degus!

My daughter found me two Degus for Christmas! (she had get her dad to travel to a pet shop a couple hours away to get them, too!) What a nice surprise - they are so sweet and I just love them! They are the funniest little critters too - they will 'double team' me when I'm tending to something in their cage. One will sneak down from the hammock above the door, and one will sneak up from the cage floor, trying to get past my hand and onto FREEDOM! They are completely adorable! A lot of their mannerisms are very similar to the Chinnies, too, which makes them even sweeter (I love chinnies, my daughter has a sweet little mosaic boy).
Just wanted to tell everyone about my new babies!

Hi Nancy! Thanks for the tip (and if you have any more advice I'd love to hear it!)! They are definitely little monkeys, I just love 'em. I see you are from Michigan too, whereabouts? I'm in the Midland area. Nice to see another Degu/Chinny/etc. fan from the same stomping grounds! lol!

Yes, I know the Ouderkirk's! We got our Chinny from Robin too. My daughter wanted a chinchilla and I didn't know anything about them, so I was very pleased to find a breeder right in my own town! I liked it that Robin spent a lot of time with Veronica and all her zillions of questions about chins - and now I love going out there and checking out the chinnies too! If you are ever going to be in Midland, give me a hollar, I'd love to meet you and chat about Degus!
