Maybe they drained the water bottle? I've had rabbits that would empty out their water bottles and get water everywhere.

My little trickster of gerbils actually put their paw on the nozzle thing and watch the water drip out >:3.. So maybe they're doing that.

Week and a half? You should change their water far more often than that.. every few days, max a week. Degus get mouth infections easily/
You say there was Degu poo everywhere, was it solid or soft?

No- solid poo is good. I was thinking, if they had diarrohea (sp?) then they may have wanted to drink a lot to rehydrate themseleves But if it solid, maybe the water bottle just leaked & they panicked. Animals sometimes poo a lot when they're scared!

yeah, I'm betting they drained your water bottle, but keep an eye on them. If any of the poo looked mushy it could have also gotten soggy from the leaked water. Sometimes water bottles just do that, I don't know why? But yeah, keep an eye on them and keep us updated!
