tepal seems happy today?
since vala's passing, tepal's been quiet, and a bit moody. now today is different. as soon as i got up she was skeaking away, i squeak and talk back, she listens. but she also just sits and grinds her teeth. so that means sh'es unimpressed. but i cannot understand why? hoping it might help, i rolled her cage closer to me at the desk. we're right now squeaking back and forth. but she's been intermittently sitting and grinding. is she unsure how to feel yet? or is there an underlying physical problem causing pain? i just really want her to be happy, i'm worried about the lil gal

I'm not really sure about Degu's. I hope someone here can give you more information, I'm sure they will but I'm glad to hear she is in a bit better of a mood!

i would go with your instincts on this one maybe she is scared and a little more happy at the same time ya know.....If you feel she is feeling a certain way your instincts are probably right ...At least mine usually are when it comes to the pets

I don't think I'd be too woried about her grinding her teeth. Not that I'm an expert. But my degu seems happy, ut she grinds her teeth ALL the time! I was worried when I first noticed...I hope it doesn't mean she's unhappy. But if she looks better, that's a good start, right? Good Luck!

i wouldnt have thought its something bad... like a physical problem.
mine sit on my lap and grind their teeth at me. it worries me too that theyre not happy, if youre squeaking to each other and interacting with each other though, thats a great sign!

so far she's been okay. yesterday i scooped her up and her and i hung out in the bedroom. i laid on the bed and she found my hood (dun dun dun!). lol.....10 minutes later she leaves my hood and checks out the bed. it was like ratty time lol, she just inspected the edges of the bed while running against my body, in and around my arms, it was so sweet!!! and MAN was she a sqeakerbox afterwards. in her cage....blah blah blah all day, i had to take her out again for more attention so she's be quiet lol, little stinker
