All-Of-A-Sudden Fighting?

Drake & Josh just started 'fighting' today and it seems as Drake wont leave Josh alone.. at one point I thought one of them might be A girl because it looked like Drake was trying to 'hump' josh but that was for a split second. I was going to put Josh in A separate cage but my mom said that the smell will change of one of the gerbils and it will just get worse. Can someone help me? A.S.A.P? Thanks.

There are two different ways that gerbils fight. Play fighting and Serious fighting. Play fighting would be chasing each other around and jumping on each other and things like that. Serious fighting would involve blood, scratches, etc. You can tell if it is serious because the gerbils will be losing weight, have bite marks (especially on the tail), and stop sleeping in the nest. Watch them for a little and make sure that everything is okay. If blood is drawn, seperate them because it si unlikely they will ever like each other again. Good Luck! I hope it is just play, that's what it sounds like, but i can't tell for sure.

Phew! You surely described play fighting! What bothered me was that Josh looked like he didn't want to play.
Thanks so much for this! (P.S: There was no blood or bite marks whatsoever )
