Wow, what an awesome story! You took things into your own hands, and you did a great job! I'm glad that you had the courage to do that for your baby hammy, I'm not sure if I would have the heart. But then again, faced with letting it die, who knows. He looks great now, and he'll probably live a full and happy life, minus one leg. Good work!

The baby is doing fine. She is now 2 months old and the sweetest hamster. She takes after her father!
