Best Brand of Food
I have fed my hamsters Hazel Hamster food for a year, but now I can't find it anywhere. What are some of the best food brands? I am going to have to switch, but I only want the best for my babies.

Normally Mazuri is available at some petstores. I find Mazuri food to always be the best. :>

Is hazel hamster the one that goes with that range that has stuff like gerri gerbil?
I saw some today and thought I would maybe switch to that...
I just got sick of my regular hamster food because it has to much fruit and even has pumpkin/ sunflower seeds as part of a mix! THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TREATS!
I am also considering making my own food, maybe you could too. This thread is going to help me aswell!

Yeah, it's all the same line. It has the sunflower and pumpkin seeds as well, I just make sure they don't get a lot of them. I was told once that it was a really good brand, but I can't find it anywhere anymore!

All my freinds think I must be insane because I sit there and take out all the raisins and seeds! One of them acctually ignored me for a week because I told them not to feed my hamster after they tried to feed it a massive chunk of cheese (EXTRA STRONG!).
Sorry, a bit off topic!

I feed mine the cheap brand and then add my own homemade food, I used to entirely make my own food, until it got to hard when I got more animals.

Can anyone give me a guideline as to what foods are everyday foods and which are treats? And how often should the treats be given?

I have made my own food before and I used: Flaked peas, flaked barley, maize, flaked maize, wheat, coulored discs/ pellets (I got these from a pet store) and a small amount of cooked oats. Any dried fruit, seeds and nuts are considered treats but are often found in store food. Other treats include toast, fresh fruit (no citrus), crickets (live or canned), SMALL amounts of meat. I will find a list and post it here later.

Okay, so I've ordered Mazuri lab block food for my babies. Do I need to supplement with a seed mix or anything? I searched the internet and get conflicting opinions, so I turned back to where I should've went in the first place~~you guys!!!
