Black Bear hamster babies........

My 18 yr old son bought a black bear hamster for his 6 yr old brother 2 weeks ago. The most adorable little animal this "mom" has ever seen. On May 31ST, we welcomed 9 babies into our household. What I need to know is.........will it be okay for me to change the bedding in her cage, as long as I don't touch the babies?
Also, when we get home from work and school we always would put her in her ball and she followed us around the house.......she still wants to do this........this is okay, right? We aren't harming the babies by allowing "mama" to do her own thing for a little while, are we?

I wouldn't put her in the ball for longer then 10 minutes right now. Also you can try to get some of the bedding from around her but not where she has her "nest" Make sure she has plenty of fresh food and water, and good luck!

Oh, how precious. I'd love to see pictures of them. I've recently been introduced to this "color" hamster. THey say they are tamer even though they are a Syrian just a different color. I wish you were closer to AL. I'd adopt one. Enjoy them.
