Black Bear turning brown w/bare spots - Paw Talk

Our 1-1/2 year old (most wonderful, precious pet in the world) black bear hamster seems to be turning brownish, from back to front, and has a few bare spots. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks so much. Also, thank you Jade for the hamster health link.

I would talk to your local vet. Sounds to me like he should get checked out. The color change could be due to age, but its possible that the hair loss could be caused by mites.

Hi! I'm not exactly sure what could be wrong with your hammie...but he could have mites. Mites can cause fur loss.
