gerbil baby questions

Yesterday night to my complete shock me and my boy friend found out our gerbil Spaz had a baby with her loving companan nibbles. There was only one baby that was born, and i have heard that the baby has a possibilite to die because spaz will not have enough milk. What can i do? She is a very good mother she never leaves precious(the little baby) alone, if she is eating then she has spaz in there covering him or her up so she or he dosnt get cold.

If precious were to die is there any like safe zone, so i dont have to worrie about her or him? Like after 3 days the baby will not die? i am new at this and very scared she will loose her baby. If precious dies how will i knoe and how would i go about taking him or her out.

And my last question...promise...If spaz does not provide enough milk i saw that you can put condenced milk on a piece of bread and the baby will suck it off. Is this true? If not can i feed the baby another way..thank you all so much.
