How long ago was it born? If it was less than 24hrs ago it should be fine Its not common but it does happen, keep us updated!

advice... advice... the first thing i would recomend is not to mess wih the babys or moma. she may become over stressed and eat the babies. give her lots of protein and calories so she can produce milk for the babies and third if you are going to pick up the babies make sure you rub your hands on there bedding first so your scent doesnt get on the babies that may also cause her to eat them too

You should give her a few yogurt drops, not a lot! Sunflower seeds and cat food are also good. This is a really good website if you have any other questions-

They come in many different brands, but they are just little hardened drops of yogurt. Mostly people feed them to hamsters, but other small animals love them too! http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2750475 <those asy that they are for hamsters, but you can feed them to gerbils too.

lotsa protien is good when mine are pregnant (and even when they're not) I give them cat or dog food, and sometimes scrambled eggs. They love it and the hard pieces of food grind down their teeth some. gerbils are amazing parents though and its alot less of a risk them eatting their young then it is a hamster or mouse. if there is a wheel keep it out for a while and make sure there is nothing the babies can be squished under, or fall off of good luck. what colors are the parents?

the dad is a P.E.W. pink eyed white for them who dont know and the mother is a red eyed honey a brown an while one, but funny the babies are gonna look like they have black fur and the have black eyes?, i think it could be a genetic throw back i dont know for sure lol

sounds like the dad isnt PEW but DTW (with not a dark tail lol) then his genes would be A-chchP- with the rest unknown and it would make it possible for black eyed babies, if all the pups are black eyed then the dad is most likely PP so no possibilities for red eyes but the pups will carry the gene because of the REH mom if you wanna know more about determining genetics just let me know, I absoloutly love genetics and will rattle off all of my gerbils genetics to anyone who will listen
