wow i havent been on this site since my gerbil benny died...... well im back again with a new gerbil and a new problem lol


i have three gerbils cornflake, milkshake and snowflake all boys only two are mine the other one is my sisters, and i notice snowflake was chasing the other 2 around so took them all out and snowflake start to try and mate with the other 2, and i know if he is sent marking or not and im a 100% sure he was trying to mate and the other gerbils are getting annoyed and snowflake just wont leave them alone and milkshake trying to fight back so im really worried

can anyone help? i need an answer realy quick before anything else happens

This is done usually for dominance.
Did you introduce them on neutral grounds?


If there is no blood,then it should be fine and they will work it out.

yes i did introduce them on neutural gound and i check how to sex them properly but i think cornflake could possibly be a girl... but i ill check again i when hes is older


the only thing is snowflake just wont leave the other two alone.

You know... my dwarf hamsters did something like that. I thought it was odd but since there was no blood or hamster babies, I didn't think too much of it. And then one of them started biting the other one in the butt on a regular basis, lol. It was kind of funny but he drew blood so... separate cages now. I'll clean two cages instead of deal with my poor little ham ham's bloody butt.

my boys go after each other all the time usually just a dominance thing, my girls go after one another too.
