Just a few hours ago, my best friend died. She was a black gerbil. Hours ago I noticed she was sluggish and lethargic. After sone research, I found out she had a stroke. I got instructions and I got my sons baby food in a dropper and gave her some and she ate it. I took her water bottle and gave her water. I walked out for a while to get some other stuff. I walked back in and she wasn't breathing. She was 4 1/2 when she died. Did she die because I did something wrong?
She lived to age 4.5 years! Wow. You absolutely did nothing wrong; you did exactly what you should do. Be proud that you did all you could and that she had a very, very long and happy life under your care.
I went through the same thing last month. My gerbil Yuuki was a month shy of six. She died in my arms. It's always so sad...But even 4.5 is very old for a gerbil so be very proud. You gave a loving home and took exceptional care of them.
