Unhappy

I guess I am not allowed to upload images THere are still none I uploaded my first day here.

And I cant link them.. so everyone is out of luck on the pics.

Bad News ....
Two died over night last night... and I found one around 6pm today with part of its shoulder skin eaten away... my guess is the pups doing this to each other.. I saved the one thats been chewed on.. and three others with empty bellies, the rest I removed from mommie for a few minutes... I think they were fighting over milk.. I will try to help by "Rotating" the pups every 30 minutes... no more than 6 at a time. Mom does not mind me handling the pups.. she is very trusting. She knows I act in the best interest. I dont like handling any pups, but if I dont, they will kill each other. Mom has not destroyed any of her own pups. I would like the remaining 11 to become healthy young adults.
Looks like I have my work cut out for the next week to week and a half. I dont know about anyone else, but my Princess kisses (licks) me when I ask her if she loves me...

Thumbs up

Thank you for the concern.. I woudln't have believed it, until I removed the babies for a few minutes, and watched them.. one of them started chewing on another pup. around the loose skin at the shoulder. So I separated them. I have to do pup rotation, so everyone gets milk. and it is working very well so far, as this morning 3 of the 11 had no milk in their bellies. Its working out great and mom seems more realxed feeding 4 at time, than 11

Oh, my! How do you know which ones have empty bellies?
I can't believe the pups are hurting each other. Sorry about that.

When you look at the babies, you can see a milk bubble in their belly and that is how you know if they are still hungry. I would feed the ones that aren't full KMR kitten formula just in case. Updates?

Post

yes, I attempted to save 4 of the ones that seemed like they were not doing as well. Update, yesterday, the other 2 that were not doing so well have died.. it appears either Starvation or Suffocation, or both.

BIG UPDATE... My Mixed breed Bella, a very interesting mix of teddy bear, cinnamon and Piebald, has 3 pups on July 5th. No wonder she was very musky! but The day she was in heat, the only males I allowed her around was Honeys(RIP) pups, all 3 survivors were male pandas and were not yet mature. So, in this, I only have my guesses. Maybe thats why she only had 3. We will see.
