Question

sorry to bother u again...

Hey everybody, i just have another question.. you see its possible that my other female gerbil (Indra) may have gotten pregnant before the breeder gave her up to the pet store a few days ago.. is there any sure way to tell??

The best way to tell with gerbils is if you see her having babies!

All joking aside, it is hard to tell for sure with gerbils. Watch her to see if she starts gaining weight. Make sure she has enough stuff to make a nest for them. I used to give mine paper towel or toliet paper tubes to shred up and make nests.

Thanks.. yeah i dunno cuz the two female's are together and are sharing the "parenting duties" with Dori's two babies..its kinda cute to watch the other girl (Indra) help shred up stuff for making a nest.. then Dori goes and puts it in the nest.. so there is a large nest in there already.. they take turns cleaning the babies and keeping them warm.. the only thing they don't share is feeding them lol.. so basically there isn't any sure way to tell? And say Indra is pregnant and does have babies, should i then seperate the two mothers?? oy.. Obviously the breeder who dropped these gerbils off at the pet store doesn't care about them, since they didn't tell the pet store any if any of them were pregnant or anything..
